Castel Malawi Limited is looking for a Procurement Manager who will be responsible for physical supply chain and inbound logistics initiatives, supply chain cost reduction and performance improvement. As well as responsible for purchasing of products and management of the inventory value.
Function Related Activities/Key Responsibilities
Manage supplier relationships effectively.
Collaboratively drive continuous performance improvement and build and maintain a strong supplier network.
Be fully aware of supplier developments and opportunities.
Ensure collaborative ways of working with global category leads and with business colleagues. In addition, you provide coaching, support and guidance to other team members.
Lead and coordinate the procurement strategy.
Facilitate periodical supply review meetings and support stakeholders by providing analytics to drive the demand and supply balancing process more effectively.
Establish purchasing planning priorities. Maintain authorized replenishment inventory levels to meet commercial planning and financial objectives.
Review forecasts and schedules to meet operational needs and desired targets.
Developing strong working relationships with all internal stakeholders & external contacts.
Produce various operational reports for management.
Manage tenders process to select qualified suppliers.
Negotiate pricing and supply contracts with all suppliers.
Develop, implement and manage all service level agreements with transporters and cleaning companies.
Working closely with suppliers to ensure orders are delivered on time and in full to agreed specification to avoid disruptions to supply.
Analyze and assess supplier and product performance.
Control custom clearing process and secure document transmission.
Able to communicate effectively with both management team and team members.
English reading, writing, math and computer skills required.
Relevant degree (Supply Chain, Finance, Industrial Engineer)
Mini 8 – 12 years proven working experience within a procurement/supply chain environment.
Forecasting and planning experience is essential.
Computer experience with ERP and Excel.
Ability to think strategically and lead negotiations.
Leader with sound influencing skills with a track record of working effectively on cross-functional teams, result delivery, and communications.
