What is the Tip-Offs Hotline?

It is a free phone number which anyone can call to report incidents such as fraud, theft, corruption, kickbacks and bribery. Castel Malawi employees, customers, suppliers and other stakeholders can report such incidents via the following free phone numbers:

For TNM, Airtel and Access users: 847 and for MTL users it is 80000847

What type of incidents can you report?

Product theft, Fuel theft, fraudulent activity, kick-backs, bribes, mismanagement, are some of the issues that you can report via this hotline.

Once you report an incident, what happens next?

When you call the freephone numbers, you provide personal identification number. This is number is important as it identifies you and is used by Deloitte to track your report, and to eventually payout your reward, should your report prove valid. There is no need to provide your name or any personal details unless you wish to do so.

What rewards are paid out on incidents?

Our company commits between MK0-MK500,000 on each report that proves valid. Note that once an incident is reported, it is investigated by an Internal Fraud Investigation Team. The reward payout is made based on what saving the incident has benefited the company

Is anonymity guaranteed?

Yes. You will only ever need to disclose your identity if you wish to do so. You can even choose how you would like the reward to be provided should you wish to maintain anonymity at reward payout point.
