Carlsberg Street Party 2017: Independence Celebration

Saturday 8 July 2017 saw probably the hottest street party to hit the streets of Blantyre this year. The Carlsberg Street Party was Carlsberg’s way of celebrating Malawi’s 53 years of independence. What other beer can make such a celebration complete except Carlsberg beer, a brew that has been in Malawi since 1968? On this celebration event, Blantyre CBD, Chilembwe Road, was home to some of Malawi’s finest musicians such as the legendary Paul Banda, Black Missionaries and Sonye. The street party drew huge crowds who braved the winter cold to enjoy music, Carlsberg beer fans enjoying beer.  The street party took place from Saturday 8 July (2pm) to Sunday 9 July (6am).
